In the MMORPG New World you can move into your own house and equip it with decorations according to your taste. How housing works, what advantages a home can secure you, but also what disadvantages are associated with it, we will tell you in the context of this guide.
How Can I Buy a Home in New World?
Each settlement in the Aeternum game world offers a number of buildings for sale that differ not only in terms of their appearance. The price of a home varies between 5,000 and 20,000 thalers. The following applies: the more expensive a house, the higher the taxes. In return, you get more storage space, shorter fast travel cooldown times and more trophy slots for more expensive houses, which give you bonuses.
Basically, however, it is not enough if you have enough dollars together for a house. Your recognition in the settlement also plays an important role. An example: In order to buy the cheapest house in a settlement, you need area reputation level 10. But there is also good news: You get a discount of 50% on the purchase of your first home, which not only applies to the total cost of the Building relates, but also to the fees that you have to pay weekly.
Differences of Houses in New World
In the following table we have divided the commercial buildings into levels to provide a better overview:
Cost: The cost determines the amount of in-game currency – New World gold that you have to shell out for a house in order to buy it. If you are lack in fund, easily buy cheap New World gold from AOEAH.COM!
Area Rep: Area Rep is essential to purchasing a home in New World. You increase the area reputation for almost every activity that you do within the respective region. Help with city projects, craft items, kill enemy NPCs, clean up corrupted areas and complete missions and faction quests to increase the reputation of the area.
Minimum taxes: This is the minimum amount you have to pay weekly if you want to keep a house fully functional. Taxes are influenced by the territory and the company in charge of the settlement. If you do not pay the taxes, you can no longer change your decorations and you will no longer receive trophy bonuses. But don’t worry: the house stays in your possession even if you don’t pay any taxes.
Fast travel cooldown: If you buy a house, it takes on the function of a fast travel point. So you can teleport into the settlement without having to register at the local guest house. The cooldown time of the fast travel depends on the level or price of the house purchased.
Items: This is the number of decorative items that you can place in the house. Decorative items do not grant bonuses, but are used (as the name suggests) for decoration.
Trophy slots: No matter what level the home you have bought, you always get five trophy slots. Trophies can give you powerful bonuses. For example, they increase your luck, grant crafting advantages or increase your damage to certain enemy types.
How Does Housing Work in New World?
Thousands of players can log into a New World server at the same time and basically each of them has the option to buy a house. Fortunately, you can move into any building that you can buy so that you don’t have to look for an unoccupied house with a magnifying glass. This also means that generally every player can buy the same house. As soon as you enter such a property, you are in an instance and are therefore invisible to outside players. If you want to present your house to your friends, you can do so with the help of an invitation to the group.
In your house you have the possibility to place decorations or pets freely. For example, buyers of the Deluxe Edition receive a great dane as a pet. You could also find pets in the wild. Decorations, on the other hand, can be crafted independently at a workbench. To unlock more decorations, you need to increase your carpentry level. If you don’t feel like doing this, you can also buy decorations from other players at a trading post.
