Android phones come in all sizes, shapes, and price ranges; however, a few of them stand out from the crowd. There is something for everyone, whether you’re looking for a foldable phone with the most recent mobile processing technology, an affordable device that doesn’t cut corners on power, or Google’s most recent Android enhancements.
With so many options, selecting the best Android phone can seem overwhelming, but in the end, it comes down to a few straightforward questions:
- When it comes to size and shape, what do you prefer?
- What is your budget?
- Will you use demanding mobile apps or play games like demo slots?
- How important are cameras to you?
- Smaller? Larger? Folding?
After conducting hundreds of tests and reviews, we came up with a list of the best Android phones you can buy in 2023. We started with a device that we believe everyone will adore.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra seems to be made to be the best Android phone, or at least the best Samsung phone. It does both, building on the impressive Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and taking the best parts of the Samsung Galaxy Note series.
This is evident in our 4.5-star review, which highlights the two aspects of this phone that we found to be our favorite. It has zoom capabilities that, in our words, “simply blow away anything we’ve ever seen before from a mobile phone camera.” These capabilities include up to 100x digital zoom and 10x optical zoom, both of which actually result in shots that can be used.
The S Pen stylus, which comes with this model and has its own slot, just like on a Galaxy Note, is another highlight. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a great screen, a lot of power, and more tech and features than you’ll probably ever use. It’s a useful feature for creativity and productivity.
It’s expensive, and the battery life could be improved. However, the price of Android excellence is well worth it for experienced users.
Google Pixel 7
Despite the fact that Google’s Pixel smartphones have always provided the best Android software experience, the Google Pixel 7 demonstrates that the company is also paying attention to the hardware. It has a sturdy aluminum wrap-around frame and a crisp 6.3-inch OLED screen. Apart from its sibling, the Pixel 7 Pro, the Pixel 7 has the best camera performance of any Android phone, and Google’s custom Tensor G2 processor competes with high-end chips in other phones. Additionally, due to its five years of guaranteed monthly patches, the Pixel 7 is more likely to remain secure than the majority of Android phones. It also costs a lot less than other Android phones, which won’t last as long or work as well, at $600.
The Asus Zenfone 9
While smartphones like the Asus Zenfone 9 are becoming faster and more powerful, they are also taking up more space in our pockets. Because of this, the Asus Zenfone 9 stands out among the 2023 smartphones. The device has a 5.9-inch display and only 169 grams of weight, but its small size doesn’t stop it from having flagship features like a 120Hz refresh rate, a powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, and 8GB of RAM.
The Asus Zenfone 9 is built in a different way, and that’s for the better. It’s not often that you see a compact phone that doesn’t compromise on things like performance and battery life.
OnePlus 10 Pro
The OnePlus 10 Pro is the first flagship device to be introduced by a team working under the same banner as Oppo and OnePlus. Oppo, on the other hand, has its own distinct style that stands out significantly from the flagship phones we’ve seen from its BBK sister company. As a result, you won’t see much of Oppo in the design language.
OnePlus has gone to great lengths to provide it with a powerful spec sheet, as they always do. A top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, a healthy amount of RAM, and, most importantly, blazing-fast charging speeds are all present in the OnePlus hardware.
It does not appear that OnePlus’s objective here is to provide superior specs to the alternatives. Instead, OnePlus is attempting to win over customers by offering a user-friendly Android experience, a “burdenless” design, and a price that is lower than that of any competitor besides Google’s flagship device.
After the release of the OnePlus 10T, general sales began on April 14. Prices initially started at $899 in the United States at launch, but they have now permanently dropped to $799. The phone is available for purchase in the United Kingdom through OnePlus.com, John Lewis, Amazon, and Three (8GB/128GB only). Finally, the OnePlus 10 Pro can be purchased from Amazon and OnePlus.com in India.
Google Pixel 6a
The Pixel 6a is Google’s most recent mid-range smartphone. It has the same processor and performance as its flagship models but comes in a new, smaller design at a lower price.
The phone costs £399 ($449/A$749), which is £200 less than the Pixel 6, but it has 80% of Google’s best features.
The 6a resembles the Pixel 6 that was affected by the shrink ray as well. It has a two-tone back with a camera bar across the top, stereo speakers, painted aluminum sides, and a flat glass front. Although the back of the 6a is made of high-quality plastic rather than glass and weighs 29 grams less, it still feels as solid and well-built as its larger sibling.
Even though many reviews complain that the Pixel 6a’s battery doesn’t last as long as the Pixel 5a’s did, this phone will still last you a day or two if you don’t use it six hours a day like I do.
