This unfortunate incident occurred when a verbal dispute escalated among patrons at a Baltimore bar on September 29, 2023. Following the shooting, Demby was swiftly transported to a hospital, where he was regrettably declared deceased. Subsequently, Jewel Crowder, the suspect responsible for the shooting, was apprehended and charged with first-degree murder.
At the time of the incident, Ryan Demby, aged 23, was off-duty and served as a deputy with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland, with three years of dedicated service to his name.
The fateful event unfolded when Deputy Ryan Demby was at a local bar around midnight. A verbal dispute erupted among other patrons, escalating to the point where gunfire erupted. Regrettably, Deputy Ryan Demby was struck during the altercation and was subsequently rushed to Shock Trauma, where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect, 40-year-old Jewel Crowder, was apprehended and charged with first-degree murder.
