Quillie Odom, a former linebacker from Manassas, VA. He passed away suddenly on December 19, 2023, at the age of 34. He was a former Virginia Tech football player and alumni, and a loving husband and father. He had a heart condition that required him to have a heart transplant, but he did not receive a donor in time. He was hospitalized in the ICU and on the transplant list until his death. Quillie Odom illness
Odom had a history of health issues, including a diagnosis of congestive heart failure (CHF) in 2016 and a stroke in 2020, leading to recurrent hospitalizations due to pneumonia.
These complications stemmed from a heart condition he had since birth, which affected the development of his ventricles. At the time of his death, he was battling left ventricular noncompaction cardiomyopathy and was on a transplant list awaiting a new heart.
Quillie Odom’s life and untimely death have been deeply mourned by his family, friends, and the sports community. His journey through these challenges and his unyielding spirit have been an inspiration to many, serving as a poignant reminder of the preciousness of life.
