About Grant Milliron:
Born in Mansfield on February 28, 1935, Milliron had been a lifelong resident of Richland County. He graduated from Madison High School in 1953, where he met Mary, the love of his life. After 67 years of marriage, Mary sadly succumbed to Alzheimer’s disease in March 2021. Together, they raised a loving family of three boys and four girls.
At the young age of 18, Grant Milliron founded Milliron Recycling with just an acre of land and 12 cars. Over the years, he nurtured and expanded the business, attributing its success to both his efforts and divine guidance.
In 2022, he sold Milliron Recycling to the Australian steelmaker Blue Scope Recycling Mansfield.
Milliron’s dedication to leaving a positive impact on the community was evident. In October 2016, the City of Shelby announced his generous donation towards the construction of a new fire station, a testament to his commitment to making a difference.
