Easton Devries, the cherished son of Jared and Jamie Devries and a student at the local high school, possessed an adventurous spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. His love for sports and outdoor activities, particularly golf, basketball, and football, was evident to everyone around him.
Tragically, while enjoying a bike ride, he collided with a car driven by Diane Beth Knudson after failing to stop at a stop sign near the intersection of Bayside Avenue and Lee Street in Clear Lake.
He was immediately taken to Mercy Hospital in Mason City for urgent medical attention, but despite the efforts made, he succumbed to his injuries a little over a month later.
The community united to bid a tearful farewell to Easton Devries, cherishing memories of his lively spirit and contagious laughter. A memorial service was held to honor his life and the happiness he brought to those he touched. Easton Devries will be remembered as a promising young man full of zest for life and a deep passion for sports. His untimely departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew him. Easton Devries Clear Lake Accident Details
On Saturday, June 24th, a fateful incident unfolded a little after 7 o’clock in the evening. Easton found himself cycling near the juncture of Bayside Avenue and Lee Street in Clear Lake. Tragically, he neglected to halt at a stop sign, leading to a collision with a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, which was being driven by 57-year-old Diane Beth Knudson from Webster City.
On July 28, 2023, Easton Devries, a 19-year-old from Clear Lake, Iowa, passed away. He had been in a severe motor vehicle accident on June 24, 2023, which left him with critical injuries. Despite the courageous efforts of medical personnel, they were unable to save his life.
